Seven billion people on earth! How can God know I exist? How can He care for me when there are so many people out there? How can He even be concerned about me when there are so many things happening in the world? Well, God knows I exist, He cares for me and is concerned about me. He loves me at a personal and intimate level.
Every book has a story. A few years ago, I was discouraged and disappointed following a betrayal. During that same period, I heard a sweet voice call my name and I positioned myself to listen. These are the words I heard: Sabina, I have not forgotten you and will never forget you. I have your name on the palm of my hand. People may forget you, ignore you, and betray you but know that I will never forget you. I will always remember my children. Those words set my heart on fire.
I found comfort and peace in those words as I scribbled them down. I searched my Bible to find out what happened when God remembered His people. After prayerfully studying the scriptures that included the words “remember” and “forget” for more than six months, the two words became part of me and I possessed them. My study of God’s Word created this devotional book.
Several people in the Bible had come to a place where it seemed like God had forgotten them. The likes of Joseph, Hannah, Samson, Lot, Mordecai and the list goes on. But as you will find out soon, none of them had been forgotten. None of them would be disregarded. None of them would be ignored. None of them would be forsaken.
You are important to God too.
