2)Early this morning, I was notified by Meñewa that Dayuma died today, March 1st, 2014. She was the young girl who left the Waorani territory to live with the more pacific Kichwas in the 1950’s. She returned to the tribe after the death of the 5 missionaries with Rachel Saint and Elizabeth Elliot to tell her people about how to live well. See her picture on the “Pictures and Projects” page.
3) Meñewa now has his pilot’s license, signed off by the Ecuadorian “FAA.” Thanks to each of you who participated in this historic accomplishment for the Waorani tribe,and especially for this young missions minded tribal young man. What follows now is his instrument rating. Watch as he takes on this new challenge. Don’t be afraid to get involved!
4)VERY SOON (PROBABLY SOMETIME IN MARCH 2014) WE WILL POST A ROCKING VIDEO OF A HUGE INTER-VILLAGE GET-TOGETHER IN THE JUNGLE IN WHICH NOT ONLY DO WE DANCE AND SING AND SHARE TEPÆ, BUT MENKAYE IS PRESENTED WITH HIS OWN COPY OF THE BOOK HE HAS AUTHORED (GENTLE SAVAGE STILL SEEKING THE END OF THE SPEAR). REMEMBER, THOUGH HE TOLD AN AWESOME AND COMPELLING STORY OF HIS LIFE AND THAT OF HIS PEOPLE, THIS MAN DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO WRITE HIS OWN NAME.
THERE WILL ALSO BE A TIME AMONG ALL THOSE PRESENT TO DEDICATE THIS LITERARY WORK INTO THE HANDS OF WÆNGONGUI (IN ENGLISH, SPANISH, WAO-TEDEDO, KICHWA, SHUAR, ETC.)
