The Scripture and Us

1 Peter 3:12-13 (KJV)

12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

In homes all across America

there are security systems protecting them.

Some have state of the art video cameras,

highly sensitive microphones,

and some can be armed or disarmed

with your cell phone.

In this day and age

security is very important.

We all want to be protected

from people who will do us harm.

Those systems only alert others

when you need help

and then somebody comes to your aid.

And the time it takes for the police

or somebody to get to where you are,

all kinds of bad things could happen to you.

The real solution

is to keep people from even thinking about

breaking in or stealing

or violence of any kind.

Americans spend billions and billions of dollars

each year on security,

self-defense, guns

and other weapons,

everything related to being in and,

hopefully, winning a war.

But, much, much less is spent

trying to stop or prevent such events.

God is an ever-present help,

an ever-present provider,

and an ever-present protector.

The security system can only alert

and/or notify.

God protects us 24/7

anywhere we are

with no monthly payment.

All we have to do to get this protection

is to love God.

People say they love God but,

don’t because saying  you love God is easy.

Love has to be shown.

Do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.

Jesus said that only God is good.

This scripture says,

And who is he that will harm you,

if ye be followers of that which is good?

Be ye a follower of God

and be secure knowing

that you are covered

by His protection and goodness.
